BEAMBOO
Bamboo furniture

Designed & Produced
-
Bamboo is a fast-growing, sustainable material that produces 30% more oxygen than trees and can grow up to one metre per day. Its root system allows for harvesting every five years without replanting, making it an ideal renewable resource. Remarkably, it also has a higher tensile strength than steel.
-
Typically, bamboo’s hollow structure is processed into thin rectangular strips, which are glued and pressed to create products like chopping boards and flooring.
-
Beamboo explores a new structural use for these strips—forming lightweight bamboo I-beams. These beams can be precision-cut, glued, and riveted to create strong, modular components for furniture construction—offering a sustainable alternative to conventional timber joinery.
